Fort Elliott JH and HS Music Students

Ft. Elliott JH and HS music students participated in the Greater Southwest Music Festival on May 1 in Amarillo, TX.  The students competed in vocal solo events and in vocal ensemble and in instrumental solo.  For most of these students, this was their first time competing in a musical event.  The students were critiqued on musicality, presentation, knowledge of music, and skill.
The rating system is as follows:
O=Outstanding - medal
I = 1st Division - medal
II = 2nd Division 
III - 3rd Division

Trip to Bountiful





Congratulations to Shaley Goad for placing 4th in the Golf Tournament in Dumas yesterday. She placed fourth out of 75 girls from 3A and 4A schools. Great job!!

Congratulations to Renee Shephard for receiving a 1 rating on her Class 1 solo at the HS UIL Vocal Solo and Ensemble contest on Saturday, February 22. She has qualified for the State UIL Vocal Solo Contest.... making her one of three students in the history of Ft. Elliott CISD to do so!

On Saturday January 25, 2014, Allison Dickey, a 6th grader at Ft. Elliott Junior High, participated in the UIL Vocal Solo and Ensemble contest. This was held in Amarillo at Tascosa High School.

She participated in the vocal solo event where she received a 1 rating on her solo "Long, Long Ago" by Thomas Bayly. Participants must perform their solo by memory and are critiqued on tone, technique, and musicianship.
A 1 rating is the highest honor a student can receive at this event.
